Men's Golf

The $75 MGA fee will primarily be used for hosting a Men's Kickoff event and a season ending Golf Event & Awards Banquet. Also, $10 of the $75 fee is allocated to the Hole-in-One club. The money collected for the MGA will be used by the discretion of the Men's Golf Committee and is not a club fee. The MGA not only begins and ends the year with a bang but will instill a sense of commitment and camaraderie by the men who frequently participate in events and those that may only play a few times. We can all share in the excitement of the "club experience" through a season opening and season closing party.

The Men's Golf Schedule is comprised of 11 "Majors": The Black & Tan, The June Legacy, The President's Cup, The Mercedes Dealer Championships, The PGA RSM McGladrey Team Championship, The Club Championship, The Shield & Stone, The July Legacy, The August Legacy, The Tradition, and the Legend Challenge. A Legend golf member must be a member of the MGA to participate in any of the 11 "majors".

The Men's Program also includes: Thursday golf (12:30 and 6:00), and weekly Saturday morning events.

The Club Championship
Saturday, July 11th
8:00 a.m. Shotgun – First Round Matches at Brandybrook and Bristlecone
Every club has a champion... we now have 8! The club championship is put into 8 flights aptly named after "Legends of Golf": Payne Stewart, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Sam Snead, Ben Crenshaw, Gene Sarazen, Tom Watson, and Andy North. The player's handicap ultimately decides which flight they will compete in and each twosome plays match play off the low handicap (except for the Stewart Flight). However, anyone may play in the Championship (Stewart) Flight... they just need to understand that it is gross golf... no handicaps! So, tee it up and become part of history as a Club Champion no matter what flight!

Golf format will be the Beat the DOG format with prizes to the winners. After golf, head back out on the course and watch our Assistant Golf Professionals compete in the "Shop Shootout." Later in the evening, major event winners will be presented their trophies in grand style. Every MGA member attending wins a fabulous door prize (thousands of dollars of Golf Shop merchandise will be given away)! The best part is…other than your golf entry… you have already paid for the party, so you might as well enjoy the party... even if you didn't win... smile and gain comfort in knowing that you donated to all the winners for the year (and start some serious trash talking for 2008).
